Itinerary
Day 1
Full day excursion to Humahuaca, Purmamarca and Tilcara
Tour start time: 7:15 am
We will depart from Salta through RN 9, enjoying the beautiful landscapes that the road offers us.
Once in San Salvador de Jujuy we will start touring the wonderful towns of the Quebrada de Humahuac a, declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site. There, we will discover their customs, traditions, beliefs, always enjoying excellent landscapes.
We will arrive at Purmamarca with its plaza where artisans congregate, its Church full of history and the well-known Hill of the Seven Colors , then, our tour reaches Tilcara , where in addition to knowing its plaza and its Church, we will visit the Museum of Anthropology to discover the life of our ancestors
Then we will visit the pre-Inca ruins of Pucara de Tilcara (optional).
Our next point will be Humahuaca where we will visit the town with its beautiful buildings and the imposing Independence Monument.
In the afternoon of return we will visit the Town of Uquia an ancient chapel of hundreds of years and inside it preserves its gold-plated altar, and paintings of the Cuzco school of an invaluable value, from there we will reach the Tropic of Capricorn.
Later, Huacalera and Maimara where we can appreciate their famous Painter's Palette.
From there we return to Salta. It constitutes a region rich in history and traditions. This region has been used as a road and settlement for ten thousand years, and today it still preserves archaeological and architectural sites that are testimony to its long history, as well as a population that maintains ancient customs.
