Itinerary
Day 1
Hike through the Eastern Hills Bogotanos
Bogotá is located in a savanna formed by the eastern mountain range of the Andes at an altitude of 2600 meters above sea level. Bogotá sits on a vast savanna formed by the Andean eastern mountain range at an altitude of 2600 MAMSL. Although most of the city is quite flat, the city borders on the east with an incredible mountain range, known as the Eastern Hills, which follows the extension of the city from south to north.
The mountainous landscape is not only the most visible geographical feature of the city, but one of the greatest influences of the Bogotá climate. Although these mountains are always present, they are completely unknown to many locals and visitors. After the management made by residents of some neighboring neighborhoods, the local administration has made available and connected several hiking trails to offer citizens the option of discovering one of the capital's greatest natural treasures.
This tour will begin after the sun rises, a guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the starting point, right on the edge of the city. There you can walk until you reach a viewpoint with a privileged view of the city. Throughout the walk, you will learn with the help of the expert guide, about the competition between native and foreign species, the environmental concerns facing Bogotá and much more. After this pleasant walk, you will return to the city in a safe way and they will leave you at your favorite hotel or destination.
