The Achibueno river drawer, located in the Andean sector of the Linares commune, is the first Nature Sanctuary in the Maule region. Its rivers and pools stand out for their striking green and turquoise colors, and its vegetation is characterized by being a native forest, predominantly between a Valdivian temperate rain forest and sclerophyllous scrub from Chile. The conservation objective of this site is to be able to protect various species that currently have conversation problems in their vulnerable category, such as the Ciprés de Cordillera, Hualo, Naranjillo, Radal Enano, among others.
This drawer has the so-called Maulino Forest, characterized by the presence of associations of deciduous species belonging to the genus Nothofagus. This forest is distinguished worldwide for its great uniqueness and biological value.
