Itinerary
Day 1
Walking tour of the Historic Center of Cartagena
- Camellón de los Mártires: When you meet our guide, you can give us the recommendations of the route. Once the group is complete, we begin the tour with an introduction about Cartagena and its beginnings as a populated center.
- Plaza de los Coches: We will walk a few meters to find the Plaza de los Coches, there our guide will tell you the story behind the famous carriages of Cartagena and the sociocultural context of the time they were popularized.
- Plaza de San Pedro Claver: Walking a few minutes, we will arrive at this famous Plaza, where our guide will tell you about the reason for its importance and highlighting the cultural and religious value of the place. In addition, Pedro Claver's history and relationship with Cartagena and his support for the black liberation struggle.
- Bastion of San Ignacio: We advance the route to reach this bastion. At this stop, we will tell about the fortification process of the city and the use of these structures for the protection of external attacks on Cartagena de Indias.
- Museo Naval del Caribe: After seeing the bastions and taking some photos during the tour through the streets of this neighborhood, we will see a small Plaza, here we are going to tell a little about the Indian history Catalina and about the Cartagena International Film Festival.
- Palace of the Inquisition: A few more streets we will find the Palace of the Inquisition, where our guide will be able to tell you the story and show the rules of judgment against those who committed acts against the laws of the Catholic Church.
- Then our guide will describe the importance it had and still is about the National Beauty Contest, the role of the Queens in Miss Colombia in Miss Universe and also the popular mistake Steve Harvey.
- Heredia Theater: Upon arriving at this place, our guide will tell you the story of Gabo, our Nobel Prize in Literature. To end the tour we can take some photos and close our experience in the historic center of Cartagena.
