Itinerary

Day 1

Guatape Gastronomic Tour of a whole day.

Before leaving this beautiful city we will visit different food stalls just to choose the best ones to try. Our first snack will be a traditional corn arepa with a typical paisa dressing accompanied by a delicious paisa recipe oatmeal, then we delight ourselves with a crunchy Antioqueña empanada to start our way to the town of Guatape.
After passing through the longest Tunnel in Latin America, we will arrive at the town of Marinilla (Despensa agricola de Medellin) where we will enjoy delicious freshly harvested strawberries accompanied by a tasty 100% artisan whipped cream.
After half an hour of extraordinary landscapes, we will find the town of Peñol, where we will take a look at the church, famous for its architecture, for being a replica of the spectacular Piedra de Guatape, there we will delight ourselves with a fried dumpling called buñuelo, This sandwich is made with cheese and the surface is usually crunchy, very common throughout the year but especially at Christmas time.
In this park we will know the history of the old town of Peñol which lies under the waters of the reservoir, from there we will take a cruise through said reservoir in which we will have a complete panoramic view of the stone and we will know the mansions of some famous people, among them La Manuela by Pablo Escobar.
At the end of our cruise we will arrive at one of the most beautiful natural monuments in Latin America, the imposing Piedra el Peñol, which with its 740 steps becomes a true adventure not only to appreciate but to climb and enjoy the wonderful 360-degree view that offers its viewpoint, located 220 meters high. To recharge our batteries, we will enjoy a typical mountain dish made with beans, rice, chorizo, pork rinds, ripe banana and fried potato, this dish is known as paisa casserole.
