Come and dare to know Monte Albán, the great urban center built by the Zapotec culture. It is the most important archaeological zone of the State of Oaxaca. It is part of the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites, in this tour you will learn about the culture and history of this impressive place and its valuable vestiges that the Zapotec left us. It was founded in 500 BC on the top of a mountain in the center of the Central Valleys of Oaxaca and functioned as the capital of the Zapotecs from the beginning of our era until 800 AD. C. At its time of greatest development, Monte Albán had about 35,000 inhabitants, who lived mostly on the terraced slopes of the mountain devoted to agriculture.

Day 1
Monte Alban and The Art of Oaxaca
Enjoy this great journey where we will first enter the history of a great city located on the top of a mountain, Monte Alban is the great urban center built by the Zapotec culture, declared a World Heritage Site in 1987 and is the most archaeological site important of the State of Oaxaca.
The next place to visit is full of magic, colors and tradition, "San Antonio Arrazola". When you arrive you will realize that all the senses are close to the skin, where the famous artisans will teach us how to carve Copal wood, giving rise to the unreal and magical figures called "Alebrijes"
Our next visit is to a village of Mixtec origin "Cuilapam de Guerrero, former Dominican monastery of the sixteenth century, whose main attraction that stands out is the Open Chapel, where General Vicente Guerrero was shot and is one of the most emblematic buildings of the colonial architecture of Oaxaca.
To end this great tour, we enter a small town of adobe houses "San Bartolo Coyotepec", where they keep a world famous jewel known as: black mud. In this place you will know the process of making beautiful figures of black clay.
