These aqueducts are attributed to the Nazca culture (200 AD - 700 AD). Of the 46 aqueducts found, 32 are still in operation today.
They were made with flagstones and huarango trunks to capture groundwater.
The "puquios" are striking, ventilation wells that descend to the subsoil in a spiral and that allow obtaining better quality water.
The Cantalloc Geoglyphs are other cultural manifestations of the ancient Nazca society.

Itinerary
Day 1
Tour to the Aqueducts of Cantalloc
At the assigned time, our guide will pick you up from your hotel to start our tour visiting the Cantalloq aqueduct, located 4 km from the city.
This amazing hydraulic engineering system was built by the Nasca civilization approximately 2,000 years ago.
These filter galleries were built to combat the prolonged droughts that plagued this desert valley and thus be able to grow their products.
Later we will visit some places located along the way, among them the geoglyph known as the needle. There we will be able to see a figure up close and you will have a better notion of how the Nasca lines are made.
Then we will visit an Inca archaeological zone known as "Paredones". According to archaeologists this place was an administrative center of the Incas.
