Day 1
City Tour Cusco
We will meet at the meeting point (Pileta Plaza de Armas) between 1:45 to 1:50 pm.
The first place of our visit will be theQoricancha "Temple of the Sun", this was the spiritual center of the Inca Empire and its architecture is now a mix of austere Inca temples and rich Dominican Christian splendor. After an explanatory tour of its history, we will leave the city in mobility to climb the mountain to the impressive ceremonial center of the enigmatic Sacsayhuamán.
Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Center;one of the most important Inca archaeological sites, with its enormous megaliths and incredible stone works. It is representative of the phenomenal power of this ancient Andean empire. You will learn about the origins and mysteries that reside in its walls. Then we will head to the Qenqo site.
Q'enqo;ancient Inca religious center, this small site was dedicated to the worship of the Inca gods. Then we will go to the site of Tambomachay.
Tambomachay;This was an Inca Water Temple, with beautiful masonry and architecture enhanced by water channels that have been in operation for over 500 years. Just across the street is our last spot, Puca Pucara.
Puca Pucara;Our last stop on the tour is this interesting site that translates as "Red Rocks." It was an entry point to Cusco from the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Then we will take the bus back down the mountain and the tour ends at your hotel (if you are in the historic center or along Av. Sol) or in the Plaza de Armas.
