The Majes Valley is located between 200 and 800 meters above sea level; with a desert-subtropical climate.
We will visit the Petroglyphs of Toro Muerto, an extension of approximately 5 km, where we will find very peculiar figures from the Wari era.
Also unmissable to take a dip in the Chancharay Spa, in its spring waters to relax and cool off from the intense heat of the area.
Quite apart from enjoying the warm lands of Majes, the main Wineries and Vineyards in the Valley open their doors wide to the public, each one of them has its own charm. In these places you can learn about the process of making their wines and grape distillates. As well as touring the farm fields. Without a doubt, a unique experience to taste and explore how true pisco and Peruvian wines are made.

Itinerary
Day 1
Majes Valley and Chancharay Spa
Our adventure begins at 5:00 a.m. We will pick you up from your hotel in the city center, with a short stop for breakfast in a small traditional oven.
We will continue our trip towards the entrance of the beautiful Majes Valley, crossed by the river of the same name, enjoying the natural landscape of fertile ravines where the best grapes for wine and pisco are grown.
Around 8:30 am we will visit the Petroglyphs of Toro Muerto, the largest reserve of petroglyphs in the world, with huge stones carved by ancient settlers in the middle of the desert. Likewise, we will visit the traditional town of Corire, as well as the petrified footprints of dinosaurs, preserved by the Querulpa Park. Here we can see some life-size replicas of these prehistoric animals, made with great detail and realism. We can also appreciate a small museum with fossilized dinosaur bones. Upon reaching the top we will finally see some dinosaur footprints that inhabited Arequipa millions of years ago.
Then we will go to the Chancharay Spa, where you can enjoy the pools with spring waters; we stay for an hour to be able to bathe.
Then we will taste a delicious lunch in a restaurant in Aplao. We will have various options, but it is highly recommended to try dishes made with fresh shrimp from the Majes River, a gastronomic delight and Arequipa's flagship dish (not available during closed season; January to March).
We will continue our tour with a visit to the Quiskay suspension bridge. We will advance a little more to be able to see closely a geological formation known as the profile of Christ.
Before returning to Arequipa at 4:00 p.m., we will visit one of the wineries in the Majes Valley, where our winemaker will be waiting for us to tell us about the secrets of pisco and wine making to later do the tasting. of your products.
