magical machu picchu
Your journey to Machu Picchu will begin with a trip to the Ollantaytambo station, then we will board the train to the town of Aguas Calientes in an approximate time of 1 hour 30 minutes. From here, you will take a 25-minute bus ride to Machu Picchu, the "lost city of the Incas." The archaeological site is believed to have been built around 1450 by the Inca Pachacútec as his vacation residence.
However, a century later, the city was abandoned after the Spanish conquest, saving itself from the destruction that reached other Inca settlements. Instead, the jungle slowly swallowed her stone constructions and hid her, protecting her.
During the guided tour, learn about the origins of this impressive citadel, presenting its most outstanding monuments such as the main square, the royal quarters, the temple of the three windows, the circular towers, the sacred clock, and the cemeteries.
At the end of the tour, return to Aguas Calientes to have lunch and board the train back to the Ollanta station. Once there, a mobility will take you to your hotel in Cusco.
